House of Representatives member for Kiru/Bebeji constituency, Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa, has been expelled from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

His expulsion comes less than 24 hours after he hinted that it would not be surprising if he left the NNPP to return to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Jibrin had also stated that he was old enough to make independent political choices in his best interest.

Addressing journalists on Saturday, NNPP Chairman in Kano State, Hashim Sulaiman Dungurawa, accused Jibrin of persistent anti-party activities and failing to meet his financial commitments to the party.

According to Dungurawa, the decision to expel Jibrin was fueled by his repeated attacks on the party and its leadership through the media. He dismissed Jibrin as a “weak politician,” claiming his electoral victory was only possible because of the Kwankwasiyya movement and the NNPP platform, not his personal influence.

Dungurawa revealed that a reconciliation committee had been set up after Jibrin’s controversial interview with Channels Television, but his subsequent remarks showed he was working against the party’s interests.

He said:
“If Jibrin were truly politically strong, he would have won his election under APC, but he failed. It was through Kwankwasiyya and NNPP that he secured a House of Reps seat. Now, he deceives himself, thinking he is strong. Instead of dialogue, he openly declared loyalty outside the party. That’s why we expelled him. He has no value to add.

“We will take him to court to recover what he owes the party. Every member is constitutionally required to pay dues, but he has consistently failed to do so.”

On speculations about Jibrin’s possible return to APC, Dungurawa insisted that such a move would not weaken NNPP, stressing that politics is built on groups and alliances, and Kwankwasiyya remains firmly behind its leader, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
