Driver Hits FRSC Officer, Leaves Scene Of Accident At High Speed

An unidentified driver struck a Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officer on duty in Osun State on Friday. According to eyewitness Salam Ademola, the incident occurred during regular morning road duty as the vehicle approached the officer near Gbongan. While fellow officers fled upon seeing the approaching vehicle’s speed, the victim remained on the road in an attempt to halt the driver. Ademola reported, “Other officers quickly ran to safety, but the officer hit by the car waited, hoping the driver would stop. Unfortunately, when he attempted to flee, it was too late, and the car hit him, dragging him a short distance before continuing without stopping.”

In response, Osun State FRSC sector commander Inyang Umoh confirmed the officer’s stable condition and stated efforts were underway to apprehend the driver who fled the scene. Umoh remarked, “The officer is stable. We are actively pursuing the driver; he has not yet been apprehended.”
