Wife Demands Justice After Policeman Husband Is Fatally Shot By Colleague And Left To perish....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Mrs. Augustina Amadin took pride in her husband’s career in the Nigeria Police Force, standing by him through thick and thin, until tragedy struck. Her husband, ASP Amadin Monday, was allegedly shot by a junior colleague on September 26, 2021, leaving him severely injured and incapacitated.
Today, their once vibrant home in White Sand, Isheri Oshun, Lagos, is overshadowed by despair. Monday, confined to a bed for nearly three years, has seen their children forced to abandon their university dreams due to financial strain. Their eldest son deferred his Linguistics studies, the second withdrew from Electrical/Electronics Engineering, and the youngest couldn’t pursue admission despite a promising JAMB score.
Financially burdened and emotionally drained, Mrs. Amadin has been the sole caregiver, navigating the trauma and responsibilities alone. Despite petitions to authorities for justice and support, including financial aid, no significant assistance has been forthcoming from the Police, aggravating their plight.
The incident has not only shattered Monday physically but also taken a toll on his mental health, compounded by guilt over being a burden to his family. Their struggles escalated as they sold properties and incurred debts to fund his extensive medical treatments, including multiple surgeries.
However, a glimmer of hope emerged when a Non-Governmental Organization, CNBA, covered the costs of a critical surgery after months of desperate fundraising. Yet, Mrs. Amadin remains disappointed by the Police authorities’ silence and lack of accountability for the shooting, urging the Inspector-General of Police and the Chairman of the Police Service Commission to intervene.
As she continues to fight for justice and support, Mrs. Amadin hopes her husband’s plight will not be overlooked, seeking acknowledgment and action from those responsible for his care and safety.
