EFCC Vs VeryDarkMan: Adeyanju Breaks Silence With Explosive Update
Human rights advocate Deji Adeyanju has disclosed that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has yet to return the mobile phone and vehicle belonging to his client, social media critic VeryDarkMan, even after his release on bail.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
According to Naija News, VeryDarkMan regained his freedom from EFCC custody on Wednesday following his recent arrest. The activist had been apprehended last week after accompanying his mother to GTBank to report a suspicious deduction from her account.
In a Thursday morning update, Adeyanju explained that the EFCC arrested VeryDarkMan on suspicions tied to alleged money laundering activities. Despite being granted bail, the agency is reportedly still holding onto his personal belongings.
“I still have respect for the EFCC Chairman, regardless of recent events,” Adeyanju noted. “There were no bail conditions imposed. I personally applied for his release and guaranteed he’d be available when needed. However, the EFCC still has his phone and car in their possession.”
Meanwhile, Nigerian comedian Mark Angel has joined the public discourse, challenging the EFCC’s version of events. Reacting to the agency’s press release, which claimed that VeryDarkMan ignored multiple invitations prior to his arrest, Mark Angel called for transparency.
“The EFCC claims they invited VeryDarkMan and he refused to show up. If that’s true, prove it. Show us the invitation,” Mark Angel said in a video posted online. “We support the rule of law, but people deserve clarity. If you had called him in, prove it with evidence.”
Mark Angel emphasized the importance of due process, stating that if the EFCC has a legitimate case, it should proceed lawfully while keeping the public informed.
