In a statement to The PUNCH, the bank emphasized, “This transition relates solely to our platform with suppliers and does not impact banking systems, customer transactions, or channels.” The change involves migrating from the existing I-Supplier platform—an automated system connecting the bank with suppliers—to a new cloud-based platform designed for better supplier management.

This upgrade is part of FirstBank’s ongoing efforts to enhance operational efficiency and customer service. The migration will take place from October 26 to November 3, 2024, with the new platform going live on November 4, 2024, when normal operations will resume.

During this period, suppliers will be unable to access the bank’s supplier platform, but FirstBank reassured them that access will be restored afterward. This announcement comes in light of recent system upgrade challenges faced by several banks in Nigeria, raising concerns among customers.
