He confirmed that the commissioner has been freed and reunited with his family in Sankera, Ukum Local Government Area, where he was abducted.

Governor Alia credited the commissioner’s release to the relentless efforts of security forces who were acting on his directives to secure Mr. Abo’s freedom.

The statement also revealed that the kidnappers are still holding Washima Erukaa, the former Chairman of Ukum LGA, and his cousin, who was taken captive while attempting to negotiate Mr. Erukaa’s release. Mr. Erukaa was kidnapped separately on a different date.

Governor Alia issued a stern warning to criminals operating in the state, emphasizing that they would not be tolerated in any form.

He commended the security forces for their role in securing the commissioner’s release and called on them to ensure the safe release of the remaining hostages.

The governor urged the security forces to take decisive action against criminals, leaving no room for their activities in the state.
