Saturday, April 8th 2023 , would go down in history as a remarkable day for the women and widows of Ubiaja because it was another epoch-making event made possible by Reverend Father Andrew Obinyan’s magnanimity to the people of his native land, Ubiaja.
They all showed their gratitude in unison for his thoughtful actions towards them on various occasions like this.
Several food items and wrappers were provided for free to all the widows in attendance, and prayers were made to Reverend Father Andrew Obinyan for always identifying with them.
In their own words to Rev Fr Obinyan; “You brought us joy and laughter”
Christians celebrate Easter with renewed confidence in Christ’s death and resurrection, which gives birth to a living hope.
In keeping with seasonal expectations, Very Rev. Fr. Obinyan of St. Francis Catholic Church in Benin City brightened up the Easter celebration and provided joy to both opulent and indigent widows in the Ekehuan axis of Benin City and his hometown of Ubiaja, in the Edo State.
Very Rev. Fr. Obinyan led the widows in a prophetic prayer session, challenging them to be strong, resolute, steadfast, and dedicated to God, the protector of widows. The name Very Rev. Fr. Obinyan is well-known in the Catholic world.
Many have described him as an inspirational Priest and a builder with uncommon architectural prowess. Others see him as a charismatic preacher and motivator who thinks on his feet, creates solution to complex problems and innovates new approaches to pastoral challenges.
In his decade of pastoral assignment in the University of Benin, Ugbowo Campus, he is known to have invested tirelessly in Scholarship grants and given his time unreservedly to the spiritual empowerment of students and staff.
May his strength of grace and character never diminish.
