Ododo, represented by his deputy, Joel Oyibo, emphasized that this cash distribution signifies a pivotal moment in enhancing the livelihoods of the state’s women and youths, promoting equity and prosperity. The initiative is part of a collaborative effort with the World Bank under the Kogi State Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus program.

The livelihood support grants, delivered through the state’s Grant Transfer Delivery platform, are intended to provide vital assistance to vulnerable individuals and families. Ododo stated, “The true value of this transfer lies not merely in the monetary amount, but in the diverse opportunities it opens for beneficiaries, enabling them to meet essential needs, invest in education, improve health, and engage more actively in the state’s economic activities.”

He expressed confidence that the program would transform communities, boost school enrollment, enhance health conditions, reduce child labor, and empower women and small-scale businesses. He urged beneficiaries to fully embrace this opportunity as a significant step toward improving their lives and the lives of their families.

Additionally, the governor called on all stakeholders and the public to collaborate with the government to ensure that Kogi becomes a place where every individual can thrive, creating a future where poverty is eradicated and all residents can live with dignity and hope.

Earlier, Mrs. Aishat Omade, the State Coordinator/CEO of the Kogi State Social Investment Program Agency, highlighted her commitment to ensuring inclusivity across all 21 LGAs in the empowerment initiative.
