concerning social media allegations related to the alleged arrest and detention of the late artiste, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as MohBad.
In the wake of MohBad’s sudden demise last month, there were various speculations regarding the circumstances surrounding his death, including claims of mistreatment by his former record label and his purported arrest and mistreatment by the NDLEA in 2022.
Subsequently, the Lagos State Police Command established a panel to investigate the events leading up to the 27-year-old singer’s death.
On Friday, October 6, the Lagos State Police Commissioner held a press conference to provide an initial report on the ongoing police investigation, during which he stated that the NDLEA had not responded to the investigative panel’s invitation.
However, a statement released by the NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, on Saturday, clarified that the anti-narcotics agency had indeed sent a written response, which was received by the Lagos State Police Command on Thursday, September 28, 2023.
“Following media inquiries regarding the claim made by the Lagos State Police Command during a press conference on Friday, October 6, 2023, that it had not yet received a response from the NDLEA regarding social media allegations concerning the alleged arrest and detention of the late artiste, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, aka MohBad, the Agency wishes to clarify that its response was indeed sent and received by the police on Thursday, September 28, 2023.”
