Nigerians have voiced their discontent after Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, visited Pastor Jerry Eze’s church in Abuja to testify about his victory in the 2024 gubernatorial election.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The Governor attended the service on Sunday, January 5, 2025, and shared how, despite his concerns about the election outcome, he remained confident in the church’s slogan: “What God cannot do does not exist.”

However, many Nigerians took to social media, particularly X, to express their displeasure, suggesting that Pastor Jerry should have prevented Okpebholo from taking the pulpit, given the alleged election rigging that marred the process.

@ose_anenih wrote: “God will not be mocked, @RealJerryEze. There was a time when mighty men of God spoke truth to power. Today, pastors use their platforms to celebrate society’s perversions. A rigged election is what your god is using to prove his divinity? God will not be mocked, Pastor Jerry.”

@MarthaOnoriode commented: “Giving him the mic was all kinds of wrong. May these corrupt politicians not corrupt the altar. He never won the elections. God cannot be mocked. I hope this testimony is not aired on NSPPD.”

@RealErimus added: “And you’re blaming Pastor Jerry for this? I guess the church shouldn’t have given him space to share his testimony. His testimony doesn’t make God a liar!”

@messersEze wrote: “Imagine the congregation shouting in celebration for this. For them, this God is so good. It’s okay, we deserve what’s happening to us as a people.”

@FemiEMohammed said: “The church service is broadcasted live, and we can’t expect @RealJerryEze to tell ushers to stop testimony givers from coming forward. Where I fault Jerry Eze is if he includes this man’s testimony in his daily morning sessions’ clips.”

@nonsorous remarked: “He uses the foolish things like what exactly? Like illiterates rising to power and doing nothing positive with it? Or is God using result manipulation and vote buying to confound the wise? We must do better, or the church won’t be spared.”

@Aikoges commented: “As much as I worship with @RealJerryEze, I won’t be blinded by dogma to stay silent. The INEC-selected governor, installed by a corrupt system, has the audacity to stand at the altar and testify about his ‘victory.’ This is a mockery of faith. His day of reckoning will come.”

@FNwabuwe concluded: “Obviously, this has nothing to do with God. Isaiah 5:20 says: ‘Woe to those who call evil good.’ Any evil or injustice has nothing to do with God. It looks good, it feels good, but it is not right. It is not of God. REPENT!”
