This update was provided by NNPCL’s Executive Vice President (Downstream), Isiyaku Abdullahi, during a workshop and engagement session with Kannywood artistes in Abuja.
Abdullahi stressed that significant progress is being made to ensure the refinery becomes operational within the year, with parallel efforts focused on completing the related pipeline infrastructure.
“Kaduna, in sha Allah, should be operational this year. We are working tirelessly on the pipelines and the refinery itself. We’ve already achieved over 60% mechanical completion,” Abdullahi stated.
He also noted that he oversees the operations of all three refineries and highlighted the advancements in revamping the Port Harcourt and Warri refineries.
“All three refineries are under my supervision. With the support of good leadership, we’ve made remarkable progress in the revamp of Port Harcourt and Warri Refineries. By God’s grace, the Port Harcourt Refinery will be delivered this year,” he added.
Furthermore, Abdullahi encouraged Nigerians to prepare for the forthcoming Initial Public Offering (IPO) of NNPCL, urging them to seize the opportunity to invest in the oil and gas sector.
“There’s an opportunity for all Nigerians. We’ll soon go public with an IPO. Set some money aside to invest in oil and gas,” he advised.
