In an interview with Vanguard, PDP Deputy National Youth Leader, Timothy Osadolor, urged Governor Eno to focus on championing electoral reforms instead of contemplating a switch to another party.
Osadolor emphasized that Eno, who has spent more than 25 years within the PDP and benefitted immensely from the party, carries a moral obligation to uphold and protect Nigeria’s democratic principles.
“It’s truly disappointing when people you once believed had integrity, class, and substance turn out to be nothing more than small men in big shoes and oversized clothes. The disillusionment is real,” Osadolor stated, expressing deep disappointment over the governor’s rumored move.
He added that at a time when Nigeria needs steadfast leadership, politicians should stand with the people and fight for reforms, not defect out of fear or self-interest.
According to Osadolor, Eno’s fear of being “rigged out” in the 2027 elections seems to be the driving force behind his defection considerations—despite his long-standing ties and loyalty to the PDP.
“This is someone who has been with us for over two decades and has had every opportunity to make a historic impact. Yet out of fear, he now considers abandoning the very platform that shaped him,” Osadolor lamented.
He also criticized the presidency’s approach to opposition figures, questioning whether party defection now serves as a cover for questionable past conduct.
“This brings us to a pressing issue: Why is the current administration so hostile towards the opposition? Are we expected to believe that all APC governors are flawless or that corrupt leaders become saints overnight once they join the ruling party? Our democracy should be built on solid institutions—not the shifting loyalties of individuals,” he concluded.
