This decision comes as a dismissal of the petition filed by Dr. Nentawe Yilwada, a candidate from the main opposition All Progressives Congress (APC).
The APC’s gubernatorial candidate had taken his case to the Tribunal, contesting the validity of Mutfwang’s election as Plateau State Governor in the March 18 governorship election.
His contention revolved around the claim that Mutfwang was not eligible to contest, as he had not been properly nominated and sponsored by his party, the PDP, which lacked organizational structure at the time of the election.
However, in its ruling issued on Friday, the Tribunal deemed Nentawe’s petition to be without merit and dismissed it in its entirety.
