Quoting DIG Habu Sani, the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Kogi State governorship election, the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Ovye Aya, conveyed the order in a statement on Friday.

The directive explicitly prohibits any security personnel attached to VIPs, political figures, public officers, or other personalities from moving or escorting their principals during the restricted vehicular movement period.

The statement emphasizes the strict enforcement of this order, stating that any officer found violating it will face arrest and appropriate disciplinary actions.

The Deputy Inspector-General of Police urges VIPs, political figures, and public officers to adhere to this directive to prevent potential embarrassment, emphasizing the commitment of the police and other security agencies to ensuring a secure electoral environment during the election period.
