Charity Omole, an aide to Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo, has been accused of orchestrating efforts to recall the suspended senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, from the Senate.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Victor Giwa, one of Akpoti-Uduaghan’s legal representatives, revealed this during an interview with Channels Television on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. It was previously reported that Akpoti-Uduaghan, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was suspended from the Senate for six months after a dispute over seat arrangements with Senate President Godswill Akpabio. She also leveled serious allegations of sexual harassment and abuse of office against Akpabio, which heightened political tensions.

Giwa claimed that Omole led a group of Kogi Central constituents to submit a petition to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Monday, March 24, 2025, urging the removal of Akpoti-Uduaghan. Giwa described the recall effort as politically driven and fraudulent, asserting that the process would be nearly impossible without manipulation.

He further criticized the recall’s foundation, noting that it was not based on the senator’s performance but rather on the sexual harassment allegations against Akpabio. Giwa pointed out Omole’s role within the Ododo administration as evidence of the Kogi state government’s involvement in the recall.

“The truth is, there is no way the recall process could proceed without fraud,” Giwa stated. “The process involves about 15 stages and is practically impossible without manipulation.”

“This is not an issue-based or performance-driven initiative. It’s entirely because she accused Akpabio of sexual harassment,” he added. “Charity Ijese Omole, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Women and Youths, is clearly spearheading a government-backed recall, not one initiated by the constituents.”
