The national chairman of NNPP, Dr. Ajuji Ahmed, discussed these changes during the official unveiling of the new logo, flag, and slogan in Abuja.

The redesigned logo, which will appear on ballot papers for all future elections in Nigeria starting in November, was presented to the Nigerian media following approval from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

However, due to logistical issues, INEC will continue using the old logo for the off-season gubernatorial election in Edo State on September 21, 2024, and the upcoming re-run election in Kano State.

The new logo will make its debut on ballot papers during the off-season gubernatorial election in Ondo State on November 16, 2024.

Dr. Ahmed elaborated on the necessity for these changes, stating: “Our experience in the last general elections showed that the old logo, with its multiple colors, posed significant challenges in producing the ballot papers. This caused confusion among our voters, as the old logo often appeared unclear on ballots nationwide.”

He continued, “As a forward-thinking party, we chose not to assign blame or challenge the issue in tribunals. Instead, we engaged in extensive dialogue and consultations both within and outside the party, which led us to this decision.”

Dr. Ahmed also urged all State Independent Electoral Commissions (SIECs) to acknowledge and incorporate the new logo in ballot papers for local government elections across the Federation.
