During the plenary session, Ndume raised a point of contention regarding Akpabio’s management of the upper house, expressing his dissatisfaction.

Reportedly, the Senate Chief Whip referred to order 54 of the Senate Standing Orders as he raised his point, but the Senate President rejected his argument.

Following his dismissal, the Borno lawmaker left the session in what can be described as a walkout and retreated to his office.

Nonetheless, while participating in the Arise TV program, Morning Show, on Friday, Ndume asserted his seniority over Akpabio and his capacity to offer advice on Senate-related matters.

He acknowledged that disagreements might arise between them, but these differences would not escalate into physical confrontations, emphasizing that they are colleagues who share common interests.

Ndume emphasized, “I am senior to Akpabio and can provide him with guidance on Senate matters. I served as the Director-General of Akpabio’s campaign, so, by virtue of my position, I was his primary supporter and advocate for the role of Senate President.”
