Rev. Samson Ayokunle, the former President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), has stated that U.S. Congressman Scott Perry’s claims that the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) financially supported terrorist groups like Boko Haram have come too late.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Speaking on Channels Television’s Inside Sources with Laolu Akande, Ayokunle reflected on how CAN had previously warned about foreign backing and the steady flow of funds and weapons to terrorists in Nigeria, but these concerns were dismissed at the time.

He stressed that the allegations made by Perry should not be ignored, criticizing the lack of intelligence from Nigerian security agencies, who failed to trace the source of terror financing until the recent revelation.

Ayokunle questioned why the international community, particularly the U.S. Congress, is only now bringing these issues to light, asking if it isn’t too late.

While there have been rumors alleging former U.S. President Barack Obama’s involvement in Boko Haram’s funding or terrorism in Nigeria, these claims were dismissed by Zagazola Makama, a Counterterrorism and Security Expert.

Makama clarified that there is no evidence to support the notion that the U.S. government directly funded or supported Boko Haram.

He explained that the terror group, which originated in 2009, relied on local sources of funding, including robberies, kidnappings, and extortion, before pledging allegiance to ISIS in 2015.
