Former U.S. President Donald Trump has filed a defamation lawsuit against The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), its parent company News Corp., and two of its journalists, following a report alleging he wrote a sexually suggestive birthday note to Jeffrey Epstein.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The lawsuit was submitted on Friday, July 18, in a Florida federal court—just one day after WSJ published the controversial article. According to documents obtained by TMZ, Trump claims the publication falsely accused him of sketching a naked woman and signing his name “Donald” in a way that mimicked pubic hair in a note allegedly sent to Epstein for his 50th birthday.

Trump asserts that the Journal had access to facts disproving the story but chose to publish it anyway. The lawsuit states: “There is no authentic letter or drawing. The Journal fabricated the story to damage President Trump’s reputation and falsely portray him in a scandalous light.”

According to Trump’s legal team, WSJ contacted the White House Press Secretary on July 15 about the upcoming story. That same day, Trump’s attorneys issued a warning, denying the allegations and cautioning against publication. Despite the warning, WSJ ran the story on July 17.

The suit demands at least $10 billion in damages and names News Corp., its CEO Robert Thomson, media tycoon Rupert Murdoch, and the two reporters as defendants.

The lawsuit also highlights the article’s virality across social media, noting the WSJ’s audience of over 20 million followers on X (formerly Twitter) and the story’s broad reposting by influencers and journalists.

Shortly after filing, Trump addressed the lawsuit on Truth Social, writing:
“We have just filed a POWERHOUSE lawsuit against everyone involved in publishing the false, malicious, defamatory, FAKE NEWS ‘article’ in the useless ‘rag’ that is The Wall Street Journal.”
He also referenced prior legal victories over other media outlets, mocking ABC’s George Stephanopoulos as “George Slopadopoulos.”

A spokesperson for Dow Jones, the WSJ’s parent company, responded to TMZ, saying: “We have full confidence in the rigor and accuracy of our reporting and will vigorously defend against any lawsuit.”
