Omokri’s statement came in response to a remark made by one of the BBNaija All Stars housemates, Seyi Awolowo, who indicated he would teach his sons to engage in illicit relationships with women.
Sharing a photograph of Seyi’s grandfather, Obafemi Awolowo, Omokri lamented the erosion of societal values by young men who prioritize satisfying their desires over ethical conduct….CONTINUE READING
He argued that this attitude contributes to unwanted pregnancies and abandoned babies, leading to a surge in unmarried mothers within the society.
Omokri highlighted, “Marriage is intended for companionship, procreation, and the fulfillment of natural desires. Unfortunately, in the Black community, our moral standards are deteriorating due to young men’s belief that satisfying their lust for women takes precedence.
This trend has resulted in the highest rates of paternity fraud, abortions, and single motherhood among all races.”
“In 2023, the Nigerian media reports of infants being abandoned in unsuitable places have become an alarming norm. Some birds actually exhibit better parenting behavior than many humans.
I personally manage an orphanage in Nigeria, experiencing the heartache of child abandonment firsthand.”
Omokri predicted that the moral decay perpetuated by shows like #BBNaija would lead to an increase in unwed mothers in Nigeria next year.
He stated that this is not an exaggeration and expressed his disappointment that such a decline in morals originates from someone with a distinguished moral legacy.
He praised Northern Nigeria for largely shielding their society from the moral decline of shows like Big Brother, comparing their moral stance to the more urbanized South.
Omokri questioned the societal benefits of the show, asserting that it corrupts morals, generates immense profits for local and international organizers, and rewards participants with a fraction of the earnings, which often goes towards physical enhancements or lavish spending.
Concluding, Omokri called for regulatory intervention by the National Broadcasting Commission to remove such shows from the airwaves if they do not align with the nation’s values.
