Lawmaker representing Delta North Senatorial District, Ned Nwoko, has alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary election was not conducted in a transparent and fair manner.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In an interview on Arise News, the senator maintained that he actually won the contest based on results he claims to have independently compiled from across the senatorial district.

He explained that the primary was held in about 98 wards and said he possesses video evidence from several locations, which he believes shows he had broader support among delegates.

According to him, the evidence will be formally submitted to the party leadership for review.

Nwoko further stated that during the exercise, participants were later informed that ward-level results would not be announced. Instead, they were told that the final declaration would come from the national leadership of the party, a development he said created confusion among stakeholders.

He also alleged that the final result announced was based on figures from a single ward, which he claimed has political ties to former Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

The senator argued that this raised concerns about fairness, insisting that the outcome did not reflect the actual voting pattern across the district.

Nwoko further accused some political actors in the state of collaborating to influence the process, claiming the declared result did not represent the will of delegates.

Quoting him, he said: “The APC primaries for Delta North took place across 98 wards. I have ward-by-ward video evidence showing that I won the election, and I will submit it to the party. Halfway through the process, we were told that no ward results would be announced and that the national leadership would handle the declaration. But later, a single ward result closely linked to the former governor was used to announce a winner. The governor of Delta State is acting in cohort with Sen. Okowa.
