Reno Omokri, a former presidential aide to Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has explained why it will be difficult to unseat the ruling party if the supreme court orders a re-run of the 2023 presidential election.

The 2023 presidential election which arguably the most controversial election since 1999 as flagbearers of different party have cases in court against the victory of the All Progressive Congress.

Recall that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressive Congress emerged winner after polling over 8.9 million votes, while Atiku Abubakar took second place with over 6.9 million votes, Peter Obi of the Labour Party emerged third with over 6.1 million votes, Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria People’s Party came out distant fourth with over 1 million votes.

PDP was degenerated before the presidential election into two parties namely LP and NNPP, which made BAT path to victory easier. All together PDP, LP and NNPP polled over 14.5million votes, but disunity and selfishness made APC retain the Aso Villa. How will a divided opposition beat an incumbent??.

“How did APC unseat PDP in 2015? Because the opposition united. Even if a re-run ordered by the Supreme Court, it will be hard to unseat APC if PDP, Labour and NNPP don’t unite to produce only one candidate. If not, APC will rig the re-run and Tinubu will reemerge!”, Reno Omokri said via his verified Twitter handle.
