Osakpawan informed the press that Alhaji Musa Muhammed, who claimed to be the national president, was no longer a member of the union after being removed from office by the Lagos chapter.
Osakpawan, who secured re-election for a second term alongside Alhaji Abdulraman Amusan as the national secretary-general, among others, also expressed the union’s willingness to collaborate with the Lagos State government in reshaping and reorganizing the transportation sector in alignment with the state government’s vision and goals.
He stated, “The only area of contention at the moment is Lagos State, and we are making an appeal to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to permit our union to operate freely in Lagos.
This would enable the transportation sector to undergo restructuring. That’s why we are appealing to the state government and all relevant authorities.”
Comrade Osakpawan also emphasized that the court order from the National Industrial Court, which Alhaji Musa Muhammed Mai Takubi was relying upon, had been appealed, and therefore, he should cease identifying himself as the National President of RTEAN.
