Tinubu-led Administration And Several States Yet to Swear In Ministers And Commissioners Ahead Of Constitutional Deadline

With only six days remaining until the constitutional deadline, the Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration and 21 states out of 28 in Nigeria are yet to swear in their ministers and commissioners, respectively.

According to the 1999 Constitution, the President has a minimum of 60 days to constitute the cabinet, and Tinubu has around eight days left to unveil his ministers. Meanwhile, only seven states have sworn in their commissioners since the governors’ inauguration in 2023.
Notably, the list of ministerial nominees by President Tinubu has not been made public, causing uncertainty among lawmakers about its contents and status.
