The TUC President, Festus Osifo, cautioned that if significant progress is not made by August 19, the union would initiate protests to protect its members and the general public from ongoing hardships.

Osifo emphasized the need for the government to expedite actions on various committees formed to address crucial issues such as cash transfers, intervention funds, reduction of governance costs, energy alternatives, refineries, education, health, and mass transit….CONTINUE READING

The TUC president highlighted the tough economic conditions in the country and called on political officeholders to lead by example.

He cited instances of proposed expenditures for National Assembly members’ vehicles and welfare packages, expressing concerns over the widening gap between the government’s largesse and the suffering of Nigerians.

According to Osifo, the demand from Nigerians is for the federal and state governments to implement policies that reduce the cost of living rather than exacerbating it.

The TUC is prepared to work tirelessly to improve the plight of Nigerian workers and the well-being of the masses, advocating for alternative and affordable energy solutions like compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and palliatives to better the lives of the people.
