The primary objective of this electronic registration initiative is to accurately ascertain the actual number of party members. Ganduje explained, “Another step that we have taken is that we are reviewing our registration electronically now.
The work has already started, so you should be ready that all our members will be electronically registered so that we have an exact number physically.”
In 2021, the former Governor Mai Mala Buni-led National Caretaker Committee conducted a nationwide membership registration exercise that resulted in the addition of over 40 million members to the party’s records.
However, Ganduje expressed concern that the outcome of the 2023 presidential election did not align with the registered member count, stating, “If you will recall, we had 41 million members, while after the presidential election, we had 8 million. What happened to the rest? So, we need to be digital and ensure that we are working with the correct data.”
Additionally, the APC is planning to establish a National Institute of Democratic Studies to promote democratic values and progressive ideas among Nigerians, aligning their behavior with democratic principles.
Hon. Omorode Osifo-Marshall, the leader of the delegation and Deputy National Treasurer of the party, congratulated Ganduje on his election as the 6th National Chairman of the APC and assured him of their unwavering support and loyalty to the new leadership.
