Federal Government Unveils Low-Key Program For 63rd Independence Day Anniversary Celebration

The federal government has revealed the schedule of events for the 63rd Independence Day Anniversary celebration under the theme “Nigeria @ 63, Renewed Hope for Unity and Prosperity…CONTINUE READING....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, presided over the announcement of the programs in Abuja on Monday, September 25.
Akume emphasized that due to the prevailing economic conditions, President Bola Tinubu has approved a modest celebration for this year. Nevertheless, he assured the Nigerian populace that the government is collaborating with various stakeholders, including organized labor, to provide assistance to all citizens.
Discussing the program outlined for the 63rd Independence Day Anniversary, Akume noted that the activities commenced with a world press conference held on Monday, September 26, at the National Press Center, Radio House, Abuja, at 11:00 am.
He also mentioned several other events scheduled for the celebration, such as an anniversary symposium/public lecture on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at the State House Conference Center at 10:00 am. Additionally, there will be a lecture on Friday, September 29, 2023, at the National Mosque Conference Center at 10:00 am, followed by Juma’at Prayer at the National Mosque at 1:00 pm.
Furthermore, the program includes a presidential broadcast on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at 7:00 am, and an Inter-Denominational Church Service on the same day at 10:00 am, which will take place at the National Christian Center.
The celebration will culminate in a military parade on Monday, October 2, 2023, at the Presidential Villa, commencing at 9:00 am.
