Farouq asserted that she has no knowledge of James Okwete and clarified that he neither worked for nor represented her in any capacity. She dismissed the reported linkages and associations to Okwete as unfounded and spurious.

Despite refraining from engaging in a media trial, Farouq disclosed that she has consulted her legal team to explore possible avenues for seeking redress for the perceived slander on her character. The former minister, who expressed pride in her service to the country, emphasized her commitment to defending her actions, stewardship, and programs during her tenure whenever called upon to do so.
