The Ondo State House of Assembly has initiated impeachment proceedings against the deputy governor, citing allegations of abuse of office and financial impropriety. Aiyedatiwa has contested the impeachment process.
In response to these developments, lawmakers have called upon Chief Judge Olusegun Odusola of the state to establish a seven-member committee responsible for investigating Aiyedatiwa’s failure to address the allegations against him.
During the committee’s inauguration in Abuja on Friday, Governor Ganduje stated that the committee, chaired by former Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State, would provide guidance to the party on the most appropriate approach to handle these issues.
Ganduje outlined the committee’s terms of reference, which involve engaging with all parties involved to gather information and context surrounding the ongoing impeachment process against the deputy governor.
The APC chairman emphasized that the committee’s objective is to offer recommendations to the party for resolving these matters and any other issues that may arise during the course of their assignment.
