Governor Sanwo-Olu conveyed to the minister that the state presently maintains a record of nearly one million households in its database but will undertake a revalidation process to ensure that more individuals can benefit from the federal government’s poverty alleviation plan. He emphasized that the state has been able to identify individuals who are in dire need of assistance within the society.

“We are committed to maintaining our focus on this important poverty alleviation initiative. We have successfully identified those in need within our society, the impoverished individuals, and households. Our aim is to align our efforts with the federal government’s agenda to provide a better life for our people,” Governor Sanwo-Olu remarked.

In response, the minister highlighted that poverty alleviation is one of the key priorities outlined by President Bola Tinubu, underscoring the significant scale of poverty in Nigeria with 133 million citizens affected and an additional 60 million grappling with humanitarian crises.
