“The Natives” is comprised of 371 ethnic, religious, and tribal backgrounds, boasting approximately 20 million members nationwide.
They firmly maintain that Tinubu has upheld fairness and equity in delivering on the promise of Renewed Hope to Nigerians.
In a statement released in Abuja on Friday by the Supreme Leader of “The Natives,” Honorable Smart Edwards, the group also extended congratulations to the President for his participation in the 2023 United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
Edwards expressed their satisfaction and pride in the achievements of the President and Vice President Kashim Shettima within their first 100 days in office.
He emphasized that the unconventional appointments, such as the selection of a young lady as Minister of Youth, the appointment of a prominent ENDSARS advocate as Minister of Digital Economy, and the assignment of a former opposition party governor to oversee the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), should not be viewed through the lens of ‘Yorubanization.’
Edwards clarified, “There is no such phenomenon as ‘Yorubanization.’ This government prioritizes competence, excellence, and balance.
With over 6000 vacant positions to be filled, no single tribe, region, or religion can adequately fulfill them. In this era, what we need most is hope—renewed hope.”
