He further stated that his office has introduced a strategy aimed at ultimately resolving security challenges in the South East and reinstating normalcy in the economic and social life of the Igbo people.

During a visit by the national leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, led by its President General, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, Kalu expressed deep concern about the prevailing insecurity in the region. He unveiled the “Peace In The South East” (PISE) project as a means to address these challenges.

Kalu explained that his office, in collaboration with all lawmakers from the region, regardless of their political affiliations, would engage with state governors and other key stakeholders to launch and execute the project.

He outlined that the project would involve regional security coordination and a political leadership approach designed to advance the Igbo cause and infrastructure development.

Additionally, he highlighted the negative impact of the sit-at-home practice, emphasizing that it has disrupted businesses and left the region economically strained.
