It’s noteworthy that President Tinubu’s Islamic faith and his practice of the religion became subjects of discussion in the lead-up to the 2023 general election in Nigeria.
The 15th edition of this list showcases Shaykh Habib ‘Umar bin Muhammad bin Salim bin Hafiz, the Director of Dar al-Mustafa in Yemen, as the world’s most influential Muslim leader.
Following him, the King of Saudi Arabia, Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, is ranked as the second most influential Muslim, while the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Grand Ayatollah Hajj Sayyid Ali Khamenei, holds the third position.
Also, Sheikh Abdur-Rahman Ahmad, the National Missioner and Chief Imam of Ansar Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, who has been a notable figure in the list since 2016, was featured once again.
