Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Chidiebere Onyia, the governor made this commitment during the 2023 World Food Day celebration in Enugu on Tuesday.
The governor emphasized that the state government is dedicated to elevating the state’s economy from $4.4 billion to $30 billion through substantial investments in agriculture.
This entails attracting investors, empowering farmers, and revitalizing the rural economy of the state.
While commending local farmers for their contributions to food production, Mbah promised strong support to Enugu’s agricultural sector, envisioning a future of abundant food security in the state.
Mbah stated, “Farming is going to play a pivotal role in our quest to grow the economy of Enugu State… We have seen the products we have a comparative advantage in, and I must say that it is heartwarming.”
The governor’s vision includes a future where the state’s food production is so vast that there won’t be enough space to display all the farm products at the next year’s event.
