In the video, he firmly debunked rumors of fuel subsidy being reintroduced by President Tinubu, emphasizing its relegation to history. “Secondly, because of the full deregulation we have in this sector, marketers are now competing amongst themselves. You must have noticed that some fuel stations have reduced their prices by 2, 3 naira. Naturally, customers will gravitate to the places where there’s a reduction in pricing,” he explained.

Moving to another pressing issue, the anticipated fuel scarcity which sent shivers across the nation, Kyari provided reassurance. He stated, “There is no challenge. Supply is robust. We even have 1.4 billion litres of oil in-house, both marine and land. There are also no issues around delivering those products inland. There’s nothing to fear or bother about. We are also pleased that market forces are now in play.”

He further clarified that petrol prices are now fully governed by market forces. It’s noteworthy that President Tinubu had eradicated the subsidy, which had previously strained the Nigerian economy, on his inauguration day. He has continuously reaffirmed his stance against reintroducing it, despite the economic challenges it might present to Nigerians.
