Concrete Roads: Contractors Instructed Not To Apply Surface Dressing – Umahi Issues New Directive.

Umahi, who has consistently advocated for concrete roads over asphalt since taking office, citing their increased longevity, clarified that it is not obligatory for all ongoing projects to transition to concrete pavement.
However, the Ministry under his leadership will only endorse concrete road shoulders in lieu of asphalt.
He stated, “It is not mandatory for all ongoing projects to adopt concrete, but those who choose to proceed with asphalt must adhere to the following conditions: no surface dressing on the shoulder, provide an alternative design for the shoulder, and all asphalt pavement roads must incorporate concrete shoulders.”
Umahi went on to reiterate that the government’s mission is to enhance the nation’s road infrastructure for the benefit of all, emphasizing unity in pursuing this common agenda.
